February Workshops
with Susan Fryer Voigt

Saturday, February 2, 10AM-4 PM        Pastels on Canvas the Degas Way
Painting with pastels on canvas and framing with no glass has been a quest. History has provided some clues as to how Degas used steam
with pastels. The process can be used on canvas with a primer base to create an oil-like look with pastels. The correct fixative and UV
protection finishes the painting so it can be presented with or without a frame and with or without glass (Susan will demonstrate the
varnish process weather permitting).  Please join me for a day of fun and experimentation.  Bring your pastels and two stretched canvases
no larger than 11x14 (factory primed for acrylic or oil). Also bring your lunch – you won’t want to leave.
Location: Bloomington Art Center
Create GORGEOUS paintings with a unique combination of inks and acrylics. During class you will create 12 mono-prints and complete three boards that you can
mat and/or frame. They make perfect gifts. No experience is necessary, but you will need to be willing to experiment and have fun... Bring an apron and lunch.
